Newly-wed bride wants to divorce bald spouse

A woman who agreed to marry a man after seeing a photograph of him in traditional headdress is demanding a divorce after she discovered he was in fact bald.

A Sharia Court is currently looking into the divorce claim that the UAE national wife filed last month.

The court heard the parents of the UAE national man visited the wife's family. In line with traditional marriages, the groom's family presented their son's picture to the bride's family.

The prospective bride saw the man portrayed in local headgear and agreed to marry him.

After signing the marriage contract the couple met face to face and the wife was shocked to discover her new husband was bald. She immediately refused to live with him and decided to file for divorce.

In her claim, she said she had been cheated and did not want a bald husband. She maintained she would never have married him had she known he was bald.

In an attempt to resolve the matter, the court officials summoned the husband, who in turn grew irritated and decided to refuse any settlement.

He said he also wanted a divorce. The couple have not been officially divorced and court officials are still trying to settle the dispute.

This is really true? It'a a true story? :-O

Hummer driver faces trial for mowing down woman

An Arab motorist, who deliberately ran over a woman and fled the scene last week, has been referred to the public prosecution on charges of murder.

A 52-year-old British woman died when the Hummer mowed her down as she got out of a taxi on Airport Road last Friday.

According to the Dubai Ambulance Services Centre, the centre had received an accident report around 12.51am and an ambulance arrived at the scene at 12.58am.

The victim had sustained serious head injuries and was taken to Rashid Hospital. However, she died on arrival. A senior police official told Gulf News the suspect, a young man, was arrested on the second day after the incident and he was detained at Al Rashidiyah police station.

According to police sources, the victim and her husband had taken a taxi and were allegedly under the influence of alcohol on the day of the incident.

[i]Actually he ran over her, twice, intentionally!! He claimed the taxi was blocking his way and the brtish couple wasn't hurrying to get out of the taxi.

And the british couple, in their 50's was not drunk.
The emirati driver was convicted to 10 years in prison, but last week, after his appeal, the sentence was reduced to 7 years. The victim's family intends to appeal to this last sentence.[/b]

Thanks for asking also i was wondering the same thing..but my opinion is that some people might not like their names to be exposed on the press in a very bad stories, making dirty their names and reputation ... maybe they are well known families which theirselves required not to show up their names,as such for neigbours,or enemies will be a good chance to harm them and their families. I don't know, this is my opinion maybe i'm wrong but i have noticed that in muslim countries the people are more discret than other places.
